“Cry Baby is the climax of melodrama.”
The latest installment in Moments, the ever-evolving mixtape, Cry Baby is a minimalist tropical jam packed with melodrama and some rare crooning from the man himself.
“It’s the climax of melodrama. It’s this very vivid snapshot of a sweaty dancefloor, Robyn is playing, there’s purple and blue lights flashing, and you break up with your partner right there.”
The song was written just after Get Naked and incidentally laid the groundwork for what later became Moments.
“It’s just a very different sound, I think, and I like that it’s different. The sparse soundscape leaves more room for imagination and interpretation.”
The roll-out of Moments continues all the way to 2021, culminating in the release of the whole project which is constantly evolving and being produced.
Cry Baby is out now.
